Relationships

It's about someone else.
Or us.

Partners, parents, friends, flatmates. A lot of what hurts happens between people. We offer one-to-one sessions to help you understand your patterns, speak up, and decide what you want.

What people bring

Breakups

Getting through the end of something, especially when you still see them every day.

Family

Expectations, guilt, boundaries, and the arguments that keep repeating.

Friendships

Falling out, drifting apart, and feeling left out.

Patterns

Choosing the same kind of person, fear of being left, or finding it hard to trust.

Individual sessions only

We see one person at a time. We don't offer couples therapy. You can still work on a relationship by working on your side of it: what you need, how you communicate, and what you're willing to accept.

How counselling helps

We'll look at what keeps happening and why, and practise the hard parts: saying what you need, setting boundaries, and handling conflict without shutting down or blowing up.

If you're queer and navigating relationships your family doesn't know about, see our queer-affirmative therapy page.

If you're not safe at home

If someone is hurting or threatening you, call 112. For other helplines, see our emergency page.

Who works with relationships

Questions people ask

Can my partner join a session?

We see individuals only, so sessions are just you and your therapist.

Can a family member join?

Talk to your therapist about it first. Usually sessions are one-to-one.

I just went through a breakup. Is that "serious enough"?

Yes. Breakups can shake your sleep, focus and sense of self. You don't need a bigger reason to talk to someone.

Ready when you are.
